As a journalist, she began her career as an intern for Dazed & Confused, then started writing freelance comment for the Guardian. She later took staff roles as a reporter at the Evening Standard, a feature writer at The Mail on Sunday and an editor at The Spectator.

In 2016, she commissioned the first all-female cover in the Spectator’s 188 year history and wrote the most-read piece of that year (an interview with Camille Paglia). In 2017, she succeeded Dolly Alderton as dating columnist at Sunday Times’ Style Magazine.

She has freelanced for Glamour, Grazia, the Independent, the New Statesman, The Sun, The Sunday Telegraph, the Times and Tatler among many others.

Her first book, Bad Romance, a collection of short stories was published in 2018. Julie Burchill said it made “Girls look like Little Women”. A novel, Love In Late Capitalism, followed in 2022. She is currently at work on her third.
